June 10 at 6:30pm: PTA Spring Fling. Dance and enjoy music by a live DJ! DC Steakholders will be on site selling dinner. Drinks and dessert will be for sale in the gym. Please consider donating a baked good. Get ready to party!

June 17: Field day! Grades Kindergarden to 2nd grade will have field day at 9:45am, and grades 3-5 will have it at 1:30pm.
June 22 at 9:30am: Kindergarten promotion ceremony
June 23 at 9:30am: 5th Grade promotion ceremony
June 23 at 10:30am: 5th Grade reception
June 23 at 2:00pm: Early dismissal for the last day of school!

In an effort to assist FCPS stakeholders to effectively advocate for full funding of FCPS schools, you are cordially invited to the following:
The next Annandale High School PTSA meeting will include a mini workshop entitled “Developing Your Story of Self.” The presentation is an effective method for advocacy and will consist of a presentation followed by a hands-on exercise and Q&A. Presenter Jess Brown of SEIU Virginia 512 has several years of experience advocating for various groups.

On Saturday, February 13, there is a legislative town hall meeting at 10:00 a.m. Join Senator Dick Saslaw, Senator Dave Marsden, and Delegate Kaye Kory at Sleepy Hollow Elementary, 3333 Sleepy Hollow Road, Falls Church, VA.
Also consider calling/emailing/meeting with your Senator to inform them you want them to vote to fully fund the FCPS 2016-2017 budget.

I am writing you today as my representative because I am especially interested in efforts to fully fund the Fairfax County School Board FY 2017 Advertised Budget of $2.67 billion, an increase of 4.8 percent, or $121.4 million, from the FY 2016 Approved Budget. This proposed budget begins reinvesting in our schools and reverses the impact of the significant cuts sustained since 2008. Key priorities focus on the classroom by investing in employees, with an emphasis on teacher salaries and reducing class sizes in elementary schools. I feel that it is very important for all residents of Fairfax County to have the needed funds to support a school system that was founded on innovation and has a reputation for excellence.
